Book Review

The NIV Kids Visual Study Bible is a wonderful resource Bible not only for kids but adults! I love this Bible as much as my kids do and it is filled to the brim with photos of the actual places and artifacts in the text. I love that it is easy to just leaf through and discover interesting facts as well as use it as a full study Bible. Highly recommend! Five stars.

Swans

Hi! I have a super pretty image to share with you today called Paired Swans Swimming in a Lily Pond. I just love swans, such beautiful and regal birds.

I stamped the image onto white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with my Copic markers. I really enjoy white images because you just use a light shade of gray in the shadowed areas and it gives the illusion of a white image without it being completely flat.

I paired the image with some patterned paper and finished it with some pen dots and a little paper rose. I hope you have a creative day!

Cherry Blossoms

Hi! Today I have a pretty card to share with you using the gorgeous Inspired By Stamping set Cherry Blossoms.

I started by stamping my image onto white cardstock and then creating a mask so that I could use Distress ink for the background.

I colored the image with Copics and mounted it onto some contrasting cardstock. I used some ribbon from the Pink's ribbon collection and my sentiment is from the stamp set.

I finished the card with some faux stitching. Hope you have a great day.

Birds in a Nest

Hi! Leah here with you today with a sweet card that could be used for so many occasions or just because the image is so sweet. The image is called A Family Nesting in a Cherry Tree.

I stamped the image onto white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored the image with Copic markers. I chose some contrasting patterned paper for the background and layered it behind the image.

I added some faux stiching and  twine bow with a little gem stone in the middle. I hope you are having a great day. Thanks for stopping by!

Koi

Today I have a card to share using some Art Neko images.  I love sentiments that have a lot of meaning. The stamp set I used is called Framed Koi and Kanji with a Wee Butterfly.

I just love this sentiment. He who obtains has little he who scatters has much. So true! I stamped the image and sentiment onto watercolor paper and colored it with Tombow markers. For the water I used a very light blue and quickly covered the entire background. I then went over the water in the front of the image around the koi with the same blue to achieve a darker tone. I love how one color can give varying effects.

The bit of patterned paper is from a collage sheet from Bmuse. I added a twine bow to finish it. I hope you enjoyed my card and be sure to scatter some kindness today!

Butterflies

Hi stamping friends! Today I have a butterfly card to share with you. I love the weather changing and starting to warm and I've even seen the first few butterflies this year!
I pulled out a couple favorite sets from Inspired By Stamping to create my card today. The first set is Hexagons. I love this background building set! I stamped the small image of 3 hexagons twice at each corner and filled them in with various patterns and colors.
Next I used the Butterflies stamp set and stamped the two largest butterflies and colored them with Copic markers. I then trimmed them out and adhered them onto my card base with foam tape.

In between the butterflies I stamped my sentiment and to finish it off added some sequins from the Valentine's Day sequins and some faux stitching with a black pen.
I hope you enjoyed my card today. Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day.

Bookmarks

Hi! Today I have a pair of bookmarks to share with you using an Art Neko stamp. I love the variety of bookmark stamps they offer.

This pretty stamp is called So Many Books So Little Time with Gerbera Daisies. I stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used Copic markers to color. I punched a small hole at the top and added some jute twine. We are always needing bookmarks in my home so these will find a book soon :)

Pocket Card

A fun pocket card to share with you today for Art Neko! I had a lot of fun creating this using some fun products from the sister store B Muse as well.

I started with a library card and pocket and used Distress ink to distress the pocket and sentiment. Using a piece from a collage sheet I adhered it to the pocket. I trimmed out the sentiment after stamping it and also added distress inks. I stamped the Circle Medallion of Flower and Butterflies in red, trimmed it out and adhered it with foam tape.

For the pull out card I used a library card and used another collage sheet from B Muse and stamped the Standing Crane Medallion and trimmed it out. I stamped the sentiment in black and colored the rose using Tombow markers. I punched a hole in the top and added a bit of twine to the top. Thanks for stopping by!

The Beautiful Word Devotional- Book Review

The Beautiful Word Devotional is a 365 day devotional hard back book. It has glossy pages and on each side of the right hand column there are lines to write notes in. On each side of the left hand column there is a scripture done in word art. I am surprised that in this type of book there is no ribbon bookmark, that would have been a nice addition.

The devotionals have the date at the top, a scripture verse, a short explanation or thought and ends with a short prayer. A very simple read to do each day. The devotionals are not very in depth but at least get your mind thinking about the chosen verse. I would say this book would make a very nice gift, especially to a new or young believer. I give this book 4 stars.

Friendship Flowers

Hello! I'm pulling out an older set from Inspired By Stamping that is still a favorite of mine called Friends Forever. I love that this one set has so many different elements to it that it's really all you need to create a great card. I use a few simple techniques to bring it all together.
I started by stamping the sentiment and then creating a mask for it out of a Post-it note. Over the mask I stamped the flowers. I usually save my masks and am able to reuse them a couple of times.
To create a border for my card I used the border stamp and used heat embossing in white. This gives a great background for adding color with Distress inks later.
I then colored my image with Tombow Markers and used just a bit of water to blend the colors together. I still really like the Tombow markers for quick coloring.
To make the border I had heat embossed pop I sponged on Distress ink in the color Peacock Feathers.

To complete my card I added a colored cardstock background, some Valentine Day sequins and ribbon. I popped the main panel up on foam tape for added dimension.
I hope you enjoyed my card today! Have a beautiful day :)
